 DEEP SOUTH KUNG-FU ARNIS ACADEMY  is one of 13 schools underneath
Tuhon/GrandMaster Rick Wei-Ward. Founded by his Disciple, Master Joshua
Wei-Watson, in May 2009 in Cape Coral, FL. Deep South Kung-Fu teaches real life
combat tactics for reality based self defense. Because of this we only teach adult
classes. This is not a sport or tournament style school, we teach only the science
and art of combat, for self defense. Kung-Fu will show you your strengths, your
weaknesses, teach you how to use them, and how to work around them. Deep South
Kung-Fu Arnis Academy teaches numerous styles of kung-fu and other systems of
martial arts from around the world, specializing in practical,
effective self defense.
There are 3 different classes taught at Deep South Kung-Fu Arnis Academy,
Sil Lum Kung-Fu -Which incorporates numerous systems and styles of kung-fu such
as Northern and Southern Styles, 5 Animal, Tong Long (Preying Mantis), Eagle, and
Monkey Styles, Choi Li Fut, Wing Chun, Mongolian Shuai Chiao, Tibetan Lama Pi,
Chin-Na, and many more, along with Professional Weapons training creating
a very effective and personalized system of self defense.
Emperor's Long Fist -Which incorporates all the internal systems of Tai Chi, Ba
Gua, Hsing I, and Chi Gung. Produced by the Emperor of the Sung Dynasty, Chao
Kuan Yin, who collected all of the manuscripts from the WuTang and Shaolin
Temples to combine and create one system. The Internal styles train the body to be
calm yet responsive, maintains ones health, and emphasize the cultivation of chi (life
energy) for use in combat rather than external muscular force. Emperor's Long Fist
was the root from where almost all Northern and Southern styles and all other
Tai Chi styles were derived.
Sasamba Kali Arnis -Which teaches the Filipino stick/knife fighting system created
by Tuhon Rick Ward who combined Modern Arnis, Traditional Arnis and Comjuka
Kali, Ju Jitsu, Chin-Na, Sil Lum Kung-Fu, and Preying Mantis Kung-Fu. The Arnis
stick techniques are applicable to sword, knife, or empty hand fighting.
Black Turtle Society -Offers a complete course in Outdoor Survival which provides
interested students the opportunity to test their skills with nature and to experience,
explore and enjoy their environment.
